Change....is it really happening?

It has been 6 months since i wrote in this blog. Time really passes by like a whisker and now its the end of 2009. Dont know how this year passed by so fast, but can surely say that sometimes running so fast seems futile, sometimes the daily grind for office seems so redundant and sometimes eveything boils down to zilch. However, life moves on and Kolkata seems to be moving too.
One of the biggest change for Kolkata is the extension of metro from Tollygunge till Garia Station. Wish the breathing space was more than a bonga local in the sealdah line, but still something is better than nothing. At least it saves the time and energy which can be devoted to some other work.
But what kolkata needs to change is the fondness for bandhs or strikes. Recently, the public sector banks called for a strike and closed their shops. The problem became acute when they forecefully closed the branches of private sector banks also. I dont think any other metro would allow this to happen. Kolkata still seems to be living in the Marxist or Communist era and aloof of how the other metros are progressing.
Anyways, got to go now. Hope to visit and update this blog consistently.
