“Welcome to hell”, they said, when I took transfer to Kolkata. But later on, I realized that it wasn’t that bad a decision. Infact, life seems to have come to a full circle. This is the city where I started my journey. Anyways, coming back to kolkata, I feel there are a lot of positive qualities in the city that are often overlooked while passing a judgement on her.
The people here are absolutely crazy. You need crazy guys to do great things. They participate in every event of sports, culture, music….everything basically. I don’t think in any city of India you will find such a huge crowd participating in all type of debates. This in real sense is what we call a debating society. The citizens argue on each and every event and the possible outcomes. Argument is our birthright, but I don’t see that happening in public places in any other metro of India.
The only issue here is the humidity. You will start sweating the moment you step out of your AC room. The saving grace is obviously, the metro. It is spot on time and rushes to your destination within minutes. If it is non-functional for even one day, then more than half of office goers will suffer.
Will write more as and when i can squeeze out some time for kolkata
